Fence & gate

Here is the garden with the fence up and the gate hung!
I haven't decided what to do with the Mexican tiles just yet, so they are lined up along the fence . . . waiting for their new function to be revealed to them!
I planted more lettuce and peas.  As soon as the last frost date passes, I can really get busy in that garden!

The new garden

Our neighbors, Robert and April, let us put our garden down on their property since they have a big open field with lots of sunshine.  We haven't cleared a garden spot on our land yet . . . A project for another time after we've finished building our road!
The soil is rich and wonderful.  To start, I've got lots of flower seeds as well as beets, carrots, sugar snap peas and several kinds of lettuce and spinach.
I'm putting up a fence to keep out the local cows.  They get out of their pasture almost daily!

Big red truck!

We have joint custody of this dump truck with our awesome neighbors,

This truck has made it sooo much easier to
get the dirt and gravel that we need to build
our road!

The last sunflowers

We had a small gathering last weekend.  We invited a few friends to bring some food to share and an instrument if they wanted to play some music.  We hiked around on our property, ate some great food, played a little music and had a lovely visit.   Chris and I planted these sunflowers and picked them to decorate the tables.  A sweet farewell to summer!

How many different colors are there in your neighborhood?

Wow!  The colors are so vivid and beautiful!

We still have quite a bit of work to do before we can really use our camper fully, but this is a huge step forward for us.  In the meantime, we've got a dry place to sleep and eat and before too much longer we'll have electricity available.
